Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, we’re absolutely jumping out of our socks to have Sunny Seppa aka. Sansibar on for our 32nd mix in the series, in light of his sophomore album.

'Sans Musique' is his debut on Kalahari Oyster Cult after esteemed credentials on Natural Sciences, Émotsiya, Darknet, Avoidance et al.

First of all, tell us a little bit about the energy of this mix - what activities do you envision or advise on exercising while listening to it? Any artists or tracks you would give a shout-out to in particular?

No envision or advice, enjoy this mix however you like!

I recorded this spontaneously with a mix of the usual stuff that I like: old, new, classics and unreleased music.

Sans Musique is an unabashedly gorgeous album that melds your electro background with post-trancey, breaks, techno and UK blends plus. Can you tell us a little bit about the themes behind Sans Musique and how it evolved to become the sound it is today?

I wanted to capture different styles of club music that’s close to me on a single album. As an absent reflection of not being able to go to a club.

How long have you been involved at Post Bar and Kaiku, two amazing venues in Helsinki?

I’ve been playing in Kaiku since I started to DJ around 2015 and in Post Bar after their opening in 2018. Big love for both <3

What else is on the cards for Sansibar for 2022? (radio residencies, future releases, personal projects, festivals etc?)
